This book is about the evolution of intelligent life on Earth from the dawn of a fledgling dinosaur civilization to the eventual rise of humanity. As humanity advances, Fermi’s Paradox (why haven’t we been contacted by other civilizations) is revealed: humanity, before it will be approached by advanced cultures from other parts of the Galaxy must first transcend thresholds of advancement itself; making it worthy of contact.

An ancient race, the Aku, themselves long evolved beyond their organic past to become a machine culture, adopts humanity and helps it along towards its own evolution into a machine culture. With the Aku’s support, their appointed human ambassador travels through time and explores humanities ascension to its ultimate adventures among the stars.

Authors note: Current AI experimentation is already leading humanity in new directions that will ultimately lead to a transition from an organic past to a machine future. OSOY explores the issue of human transference to a machine culture; where our self-awareness as individuals is transferred into individual machines, breaking the bonds of our organic bodies; making us virtually immortal.
